The inadvertent expat blogger behind Honey Suckle Hub

Hello, I am Ava
I work as a project manager, a parent, and an expatriate living in Toronto, Canada.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn't in our long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were demanding— fresh processes, unfamiliar routines, new expectations. Daily chores seemed more complicated than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning on the job. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Built Honey Suckle Hub
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap—practical advice drawn from real life in Canada.
What this site covers (and what it does not)
This site is:
- Practical know-how from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when a genuine change occurs
This site isn’t:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Not a generic travel blog
What lies ahead
Our time in Canada goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
Ava
